Non-subsidized Fuel Prices to Rise Dramatically in April 2026, Here's Why PT Pertamina Made This Decision--
KORANPAGARALAMPOS.COM - The increase in fuel prices has once again become a public concern after the government, through Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, explained the reasons behind the surge in non-subsidized fuel prices.
This adjustment mainly affects products such as Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex, all of which have seen significant price increases in recent times.
According to Bahlil, the policy of raising non-subsidized fuel prices fully follows market mechanisms.
This differs from subsidized fuels such as Pertalite and Biosolar, whose prices are still directly regulated by the government.

Based on the 2022 Ministerial Regulation of Energy and Mineral Resources, non-subsidized fuel prices are adjusted in line with global oil price fluctuations, making such increases unavoidable.
In his statement, Bahlil emphasized that the impact of these price hikes does not target all segments of society.
High-octane fuels such as Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) and Dexlite with a cetane number (CN) of 51 are generally used by middle- to upper-income groups.
Therefore, the government considers that the increase does not significantly burden lower-income communities.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, as the operator responsible for fuel distribution, has also adjusted prices in accordance with existing regulations, specifically the Ministerial Decree No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022.
The price of Pertamax Turbo has risen from Rp13,100 to Rp19,400 per liter, Dexlite from Rp14,200 to Rp23,600 per liter, and Pertamina Dex from Rp14,500 to Rp23,900 per liter.
Meanwhile, the prices of other fuels such as Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertamax Green have been maintained.
This decision was made as the company continues further evaluations, taking into account various factors, including public purchasing power and national economic stability.
